$165 for 4-week course
In this 4-week online course we will examine pictorial elements including value, color, design and content in master paintings from renaissance to contemporary. By studying the powerful observation and painting techniques involved, we will gain insight into the creation of the works. Each week we will start with a lecture and discussion focusing on one of the pictorial concepts. There will be demo on specific painting techniques to decode the underlying structure of the work. Related master copy assignment (~2 hours) will be given weekly. Completed homework can be posted on a private Facebook group where feedback will be provided. Everyone is encouraged to contribute to the discussion as well. Demos will be done in oil and gouache, and students are welcomed to use water media or oil. Please visit larinechung.com/workshop for registration. Course outline and supply list will be emailed shortly after enrollment. Thank you!
